Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo on Monday denied reports that he has received a shot of Covovax, a vaccine that has yet to secure an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).
In a text message to Politiko, Arroyo, who heads the House Committee on Energy denied the claim of Mayor Charlton Uy of Cabatuan, Isabela.
“Its inaccurate and false,” said Arroyo, son of former President and Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Uy reportedly mentioned Arroyo’s supposed inoculation with Covovax in a Facebook video. The former presidential son said he no longer wanted to let the issue drag on.
Covovax is a vaccine developed by US biotechnology company na Novavax against COVID-19. It is being manufactured by Serum Institute of India.
