The government will investigate the murder of nine activists in Calabarzon region, Malacañang said Monday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, however, said the recent crackdown on activists was not related to President Rodrigo Duterte’s order last March 5 to “kill” all communist rebels in the country.
The secretary also clarified that Duterte’s “kill, ,kill, kill” order only applies to armed communist rebels.
Authorities claimed that those who have been killed had resisted arrest.
