Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said there is no schedule yet as to when the government panel will meet with Maynilad to discuss the new water concession agreement.
“Wala pa,” he said.
“Conclude muna namin yung sa Manila Water,” he added.
Guevarra earlier said the government will be conducting talks with Maynilad after concluding the new agreement with Manila Water.
He said the government panel has already completed last Wednesday (March 24) its talks with Manila Water and will sign the new water concession deal before March ends.
The government panel is comprised of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Vince Dizon, the Office of the President (OP), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), and the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC).
President Rodrigo Duterte sought the new agreement due onerous provisions found in the current deals.
