Senator Nancy Binay on Monday said the community pantries sprouting nationwide was a heart-warming sign that Filipinos would help each other out during times of crisis.
“Nakakataba ng puso na makitang dumarami ang community pantries, at patunay lang na ang Bayanihan spirit is alive,” she said in response to the mushrooming of community pantries where needy people could take food items donated by their neighbors for free.
“Bilang mga Pilipino, we always have this unflinching desire to help whenever extraordinary circumstances call us to respond,” Binay said.
“It shows that Filipinos are naturally generous, compassionate, and have the heart for service,” she said.
“And when things seem uncertain, and despairing–community pantries are a testament that hope is not lost. Sharing does not need to have any color or politics,” Binay added.
