Trial court judges have been asked to sign up if they want to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
In a circular dated April 18, Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez announced that “all judges and court personnel of the first and second level courts who wish to be inoculated under Priority Group A4 of the Judiciary should submit their names and other personal information no later than 22 April 2021 to the Office of the Court Administrator…”
Marquez made the advisory since “[f]rontline workers in the law/justice, security, and social protection sectors” have been placed by the National COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment Plan in the Priority Group A4 of persons who should get vaccinated.
“To ensure that there will be sufficient supply of vaccines for judges and court personnel interested to be inoculate, the information gathered shall be shared by the OCA with the National Task Force Against COVID-19 and the concerned LGUs, and processed pursuant to the provisions and safeguards under R.A. No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012,” he noted.
If place where they reside is not included in the list of areas where vaccination can be done, he advised that “they can choose the nearest city of municipality from their residence where they intend to register and be inoculated, considering that the inoculation is residence-based.”
“Accordingly, they will have to thereafter register with their respective Local Government Units (LGUs) once their LGUs are accepting registrations for those in Priority Group A4,” Marquez said.
