How to give away Ivermectin? Defensor suggests deworming campaign in local communities

Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor has some advice to local officials who may want to do what he did in Old Balara, Quezon City.

Last week, he distributed Ivermectin even if it’s still not recommended to for COVID-19 treatment.

Defensor believes there’s a loophole that could allow officials to legally distribute human-grade Ivermectin.

“Ang advice ko sa kanila, magkaroon sila ng deworming campaign,” he said stressing that giving out Ivermectin during this type of operation won’t even require prescriptions from doctors.

“Gumagawa kami ng lusot? Yes! We are doing in order to help the people,” he added.

Defensor lashed out the Department of Health for allegedly failing to find ways to protect people from COVID-19.

“Can you imagine na kami pa naghahanap ng lusot para magawa ang isang programa, maisalba (lang) ang buhay ng tao!” he said.
