The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) said it will accept complaints against any of the 15 candidates seeking a seat at the Supreme Court (SC).
SC Clerk of Court and JBC Ex-Officio Secretary Marife Lomibao-Cuevas pointed this out in an announcement she issued May 21, which named the 15 candidates seeking to become a magistrate of the SC.
Cuevas said the public “may submit a sworn complaint, report, or opposition against any of the aforesaid candidates” to the JBC via mail or e-mail.
The 15 candidates include Finance Undersecretary Antonette Tionko; Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez; Deputy Court Administrator Raul Villanueva; Sandiganbayan Justices Amparo Cabotaje Tang, Geraldine Faith Econg, Rafael Lagos, and Alex Quiroz; and Court of Appeals (CA) Justices Nina Antonio Valenzuela, Apolinario Bruselas Jr., Ramon Cruz, Japar Dimaampao, and Maria Filomena Singh, Ronaldo Roberto Martin.
The other candidates are former Ateneo de Manila University law dean Sedfrey Candelaria and lawyer Benedicta Du-Balabad.
Seven of the candidates are set to undergo public interview before the JBC this June 2 to 3 and they are Du-Balabad, econg, Lagos, martin, Quiroz, Tionko and Villanueva.
While, the rest still have valid previous interviews.
