The House of Representatives has approved on second reading a measure granting night shift differential pay to selected government employees including those employed in Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations.
Under House Bill 5727, government employees occupying position items from Division Chief and below, whether permanent, contractual, temporary or casual can be paid night shift differential at a rate not exceeding 20% of their hourly basic rate.
The measure excludes in the coverage military and uniformed personnel and other similarly situated government employees as maybe determined by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
