DBM releases P10.80-billion Covid-19 aid to NCR

By Prince Golez

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released a total of P10.894 billion to support low-income households affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region.

Metro Manila was placed under ECQ from August 6 to 20 due to the surge of Covid-19 cases.

In a press statement Friday, the DBM said the funding requirement was charged from the 2020 budget savings pursuant to Administrative Order No. 41.

“The cash aid will be released directly by the Bureau of Treasury to the concerned local government units through their respective authorized government servicing banks,” the department also said.

During the ECQ period, eligible Filipinos will receive up to P4,000 to help augment their needs despite the lockdown.

To ensure the proper utilization of the funds, local governments should comply with the posting and reporting requirements specified in the DBM Local Budget Circular No. 138, which may be accessed through this link: https://ift.tt/3inHZv0
