Government’s pandemic response ‘on the cusp of passing and failing’ – De Venecia

Pangasinan Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia described the government’s pandemic response to be on the cusp of passing and failing, and in need of improvement.

“Definitely the vaccine rollout can be faster. Di ba to achieve herd immunity you need vaccinate 60-70% of the population and we are far from the target,” De Venecia said in an interview on Abante’s Balitaan at Kumustahan.

He mentioned that there is a need to amplify the efforts to cover as many individuals as possible, which he thinks is completely important.

He also explained how the vaccine is the only way to combat the adverse effects of COVID-19 and to avoid certain death brought by severe critical complications.

“I think there are points for improvement though we also naman celebrate the great, yung mga magagandang nagawa dun sa pag-combat ng COVID sa ating bansa but definitely there’s always points for improvement for absolutely areas of governance,” he said.
