The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is still awaiting the report from the Philippine National Police (PNP) regarding the recent Ikaw Muna (IM) convention in Batangas.
On October 15, Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Isko Moreno, together with his senatorial candidates Samira Gutoc, Carl Balita, and Jopet Sison, and vice-presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong, visited Batangas to meet the local leaders in the vote-rich province.
The DILG eyed the IM convention, which Senator Ralph Recto also attended, as a potential Covid-19 super spreader event.
“Inaantay pa rin natin ang report mula sa Batangas Police Provincial Office at doon sa city police station na may jurisdiction dito sa nasabing insidente,” DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said during the Laging Handa public briefing Monday.
Malaya said Interior Secretary Eduardo Año already asked for a “more detailed report” from the PNP.
“Ang natanggap pa lang namin eh raw report lamang at ang hiningi po ni Secretary Eduardo Año sa ating kapulisan is a more detailed report so that we can act accordingly,” according to him.
“Sa ngayon, inaantay pa rin po natin ang report ng Philippine National Police,” he added.
