Raffy Tulfo says no need for Bongbong to apologize for Marcos atrocities: Kasalanan ng tatay, bakit magiging kasalanan ng anak?

Senatorial aspirant Raffy Tulfo sees no need for former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos to apologize for the abuses committed by his father and namesake throughout his two-decade rule.

Tulfo told ANC’s “Headstart” Monday (October 18) that Marcos shouldn’t be pilloried for the actions of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

“Kasalanan ng tatay, bakit magiging kasalanan ng anak? Why would he apologize for something that he didn’t do, na ang may kagagawan ay tatay niya?” he asked.

“Give the other relative na wala namang kinalaman a chance na ma-prove ang sarili niya,” Tulfo added.

The popular broadcaster and YouTube personality said he could relate to Marcos’ predicament, as he has also been pressured to apologize for the alleged irregularities committed by his siblings.

Tulfo’s sister, former Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo Teo, was forced to resign from her Cabinet post over her agency’s P60-million contract with state-run PTV and a production company owned by sibling Ben Tulfo, Bitag Media Unlimited.

“May mga issue ang mga kapatid ko and yet itinuturo sa akin na kasabwat ako at sinasabihan ako na, ‘mag-sorry ka. Isauli niyo ‘yan.’ Sinasabi ko, ‘why? Anong kinalaman ko diyan? Bakit ako magso-sorry?’” he said.

Tulfo said it’s up to Marcos, a presidential aspirant, to recognize the atrocities committed by his father. He said he can’t dictate on the former senator since they’re both running in the 2022 elections.
