Duterte names Jesus Melchor Quitain as chief counsel

President Rodrigo Duterte has named Jesus Melchor Quitain as chief presidential legal counsel, Malacañang said Tuesday.

Quitain replaced Salvador Panelo, who is running for senator in the 2022 national elections.

“Inappoint ng Pangulo si Jesus Vega hitain bilang kanyang chief presidential legal counsel,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during his televised briefing.

Prior to being appointed as chief presidential legal counsel, Quitain also served as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President and Davao City administrator.
