President Rodrigo Duterte thanked Russian President Vladmir Putin for the delivery of additional Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccines in the Philippines.
During his taped public address aired Wednesday, Duterte announced that 2.7 million doses of Sputnik V arrived in Manila on November 2.
“I thank Russia, particularly President Vladimir Putin for ensuring we received these doses in a timely manner,” the Chief Executive said.
Duterte also thanked the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, and Germany for their “generous” vaccine donations.
“I am happy to report that we exceeded our target of 55 million doses to be administered by October primarily because the supply came in droves. Ibig sabihin, sige dating, sa awa ng Diyos, ang mga donations pati ang binili natin,” according to him.
