President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to decide whether to push through with the opening of classes as scheduled on August 24.
In a public address aired over state-run PTV-4 on Friday, Duterte said the school opening date will be discussed in his meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
“On the next meeting, we will decide on the actual date of how to open the schools,” according to him.
Duterte reiterated that there should no classes until a vaccine against the coronavirus is available.
“Ang akin, basta mabakunahan lang. I’m talking about within the months of October, November, December,” he added.
