Malacañang extended its congratulations to Cebu City’s Beatrice Luigi Gomez for being crowned as the 2021 Miss Universe Philippines.
Gomez, a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community bested 27 other girls who competed during the pageant finals held in Bohol on September 30.
“Congratulations, Beatrice Gomez of Cebu City,” Roque said in a recent Facebook post.
“Lahi ra jud ang mga Bisaya! (The bisaya are just like no other!)” he also wrote, with a heart emoji.
The 26-year-old Cebuana also won the Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown prior to the coronation.
Gomez will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant to be held in Israel this December.
