Convicted pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles has shared details of her past meetings with Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon to debunk his claim that he doesn’t know her.
In an affidavit shared by abogado Larry Gadon with the media, Napoles said there were many instances that she and Drilon talked.
“Ang katotohanan ay Si Senator Franklin Drilon mismo ang may kakilala sa akin at siya mismo ang nakikipagusap sa akin sa maraming pagkakataon,” she said.
The businesswoman, who’s detained at the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong, claimed Drilon asked her for P5 million in a meeting at the Makati Shangri La Hotel for his 2010 senatorial bid.
Napoles said Drilon also called her before the Senate voted to convict then-Chief Justice Renato Corona in an impeachment trial in 2012 to convince some senators to decide for the magistrate’s removal.
She said she was asked by Drilon to give the senators projects amounting to P200 million to vote for Corona’s impeachment.
While it’s unclear whether Napoles submitted the affidavit to any government agency, Gadon said it could be used “for all intents and purposes.”
