Malacañang on Monday urged those who cast doubts on President Rodrigo Duterte’s retirement to wait until the deadline of substitution of candidates for the 2022 elections on November 15.
On Saturday, Duterte dropped his bid for vice president, saying that he was retiring from politics after June 2022.
His long time aide Senator Bong Go replaced him as the vice presidential bet of the ruling PDP-Laban party.
At naghain na po ng certificate of candidacy si Senator Bong Go for vice president,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during his televised briefing.
To recall, Duterte also announced his retirement from politics in 2015 but recalled his decision and ran for the presidency the following year.
